Southern Decadence New Orleans - August 30, 2008
When the American government has reduced thousands of displaced Black families in New Orleans to living in trailers all the while the same city’s gay pride celebration, Southern Decadence, can shell out the dough to bring in Charles Knipp’s to perform his character Shirley Q. Liquor blocks from where they sleep, we’ve got a problem, a big one.
Help us send a message to the organizers of Southern Decadence in New Orleans that New Orleans is no place for blackface performances like Shirley Q. Liquor.
Southern Decadence is sponsored in part by Absolut, Gay.com, PlanetOut.com, and SiriusOutQ Satellite Radio.
